Samnytt can now reveal more about the man who was remanded in custody last Friday following the widely reported case where a mother discovered a stranger in her 6-year-old daughter’s bed.
It was on September 30 this year that the couple Malin and Dennis in Lund discovered a stranger in the room of their eldest daughter. The family, who live with their three children in a ground-floor apartment, had put the children to bed as usual.
Around 8:30 p.m., the mother went in to check on the 6-year-old, who was lying in bed listening to an audiobook, according to the newspaper Expressen.
Half an hour later, however, she noticed the lamp was on again and went in to check on her daughter. When she entered the room, she saw an unknown man sitting on the bed, wearing a hoodie and holding her daughter.
At first, she thought it was a relative, but when the man did not answer, she screamed for her husband. Dennis ran in, pulled off the man’s hood, and asked who he was. He had never seen him before.
Malin called the police while Dennis held the man down. During the commotion, the man reportedly shouted several times, “I’m supposed to be here now! Leave me alone!” the father told Expressen.
According to the parents, he had entered through the girl’s window. Police estimate that he had been in the apartment for a little over half an hour. The daughter also reportedly said that the man told her he wanted to “cuddle” with her and that he would come back.
Speaking to Expressen, the mother said that the girl has had trouble sleeping after the terrifying experience.
– She is afraid and doesn’t dare fall asleep.
