A piano teacher employed at the Kulturskolan in the Falkenberg municipality has been sentenced to prison after sexually assaulting one of his students during a lesson. He is convicted of touching her breasts and buttocks under her clothes and for possessing 50 child pornographic images on his digital devices. The prosecutor had sought a conviction for child rape, but the district court has only found him guilty of aggravated sexual assault against a child. The court found that it was not proven he had penetrated her anus with his finger, as the girl claimed.
Earlier this spring, Samnytt was able to report on a school employee who was charged with raping a student during school hours. Now, the verdict has been handed down. The piano teacher Jens Johansson, 49 years old, was employed at the publicly funded Kulturskolan in Falkenberg when the assault took place.
Court documents reveal that the 14-year-old girl has autism and cognitive impairment, making her mental development level significantly lower than her chronological age.
They also show that Jens Johansson had been the girl’s piano teacher for several years and that on December 12, 2025, the girl told her mother about what had happened during the previous day’s piano lesson. A police report was filed the same day.
On December 14, 2025, Johansson was arrested and, during a house search, 50 child pornographic images were found. He was then remanded in custody on probable cause, suspected of child rape and child pornography offenses.
The court has primarily considered the girl’s own account of the events, but also written evidence in the form of messages between her and her mother.
One of the messages reads: “Mom, you know Jens, when I was playing piano with him, he took my breast out of my bra and fiddled with my breast, I really didn’t like it.”
The girl also wrote: “I’m never playing with him again” and “I’m so angry at him.”
The court also considered written evidence such as photos Johansson took of girls at the school, including one photo taken under a student’s skirt during a music lesson.
Prosecutor: Inserted Finger in Girl’s Anus
In the indictment submitted to the district court by chamber prosecutor Cecilia Andersson, she primarily requested a conviction for child rape. In her description, she alleged that Johansson inserted a finger into the girl’s anus and touched her breasts and buttocks under her clothes.
The girl also reportedly suffered major sleep problems after the incident and repeatedly asked questions such as “why did Jens do that to me” and “I hate him.” The girl now meets the criteria for a PTSD diagnosis and is receiving sleep medication.
Johansson, however, denied that anything of the sort happened. He claimed, among other things, that the girl was “acting out a lot” and that he said, “if you keep doing this, I’ll tickle you.”
According to Johansson, the girl continued to act out, so he tickled her armpit and she threw herself backward. As the chair had no backrest, he was afraid she would fall, so he caught her by the back.
He then adjusted her “fairly loose knitted sweater” with his hand, somewhat “instinctively.”
Regarding the child pornography, Johansson says he had been feeling bad for a long time and had developed a pornography addiction. He claims he had inadvertently downloaded child pornographic material by mistake and therefore didn’t have intent to possess it—an explanation the court did not accept.
The Court: Not Rape
Chamber prosecutor Cecilia Andersson had requested a conviction for child rape, since the girl in questioning described a finger around and in the anus. However, the district court did not find this established and instead convicted Jens Johansson of aggravated sexual assault against a child.
Part of the District Court’s Reasoning
The district court further finds that the circumstances of finding child pornographic material on devices belonging to Jens Johansson, as well as other film and photo material—including a film shot under the skirt of a student during a music lesson, and photos of children with the lower body zoomed in—are incriminating for him. In light of the above, the court collectively finds that the prosecutor has shown that Jens Johansson touched NN2’s breasts and buttocks under her clothes. Since there is no concrete supporting evidence regarding the prosecutor’s claim that Jens Johansson also inserted a finger into NN2’s anus, it has not been proven that such a sexual act took place.

The court therefore finds it proven that Jens Johansson touched NN2’s breasts and buttocks under her clothes. These were not short-lived touches. The acts had a clear sexual nature and were intended to violate the plaintiff’s sexual integrity. Given these circumstances—and considering that NN2 has an intellectual disability and that Jens Johansson, who was alone with NN2 during a piano lesson, exploited his position and abused special trust—the case should be considered aggravated sexual assault against a child. Jens Johansson should therefore be convicted of aggravated sexual assault against a child in accordance with the prosecutor’s alternative charge.

On July 1, Varbergs District Court announced that Jens Johansson is sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for aggravated sexual assault against a child and for child pornography offenses. However, the verdict has been appealed to the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden.
