While Christmas markets in multicultural European countries are being fortified with so-called diversity barriers to stop Muslim terrorists from mowing down Christmas celebrants, or not happening at all due to security concerns, true Christmas peace reigns in countries like Hungary – something the country’s prime minister points out in a video that has garnered great attention.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán invites tourists to spend Christmas in Hungary and be able to “experience Europe as it should be” in a recently shared video on X. In the caption, he reminds that Hungary must pay a fine of one million euros per day for refusing to let illegal migrants into the country.

Hungary and its government have been in constant conflict with Brussels since 2015 on how to handle the influx of migrants. Orbán does not want the country to end up in the same situation as countries like Sweden, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Many Westerners see Hungary as a part of Europe that has remained what Western European countries should have been instead of letting in millions of Muslim migrants with a long list of irreversible and negative consequences, notes Hungarian Conservative.

Hungary has placed great emphasis on promoting the country to tourists in recent years. In 2024, around 1.3 million guests stayed in tourist accommodations during December, an increase of about eleven percentage points compared to the previous year. Foreign visitors accounted for approximately 715,000 arrivals (an increase of 20 percentage points) and about 1.7 million nights (an increase of 15 percentage points).
