On Tuesday, Samnytt revealed that the Left Party politician in Borlänge who is charged with two cases of child abuse and two cases of violating a child protection order is Rikard Rudolfsson. Later the same day, Rudolfsson announced his resignation.

Rikard Rudolfsson is one of the most prominent politicians of the Left Party in Borlänge, but the fact that it was him who is charged was omitted by local media such as Borlänge Tidning. At the same time, the newspaper chose to name former right-wing politicians in significantly less serious matters. The newspaper’s editor-in-chief has also participated in campaigns against the Sweden Democrats on social media.

On a daily basis, Rudolfsson is the chairman and group leader of the Left Party in Borlänge, as well as an elected member of both the municipal council and the municipal board, as well as the environmental and planning committee.
