Three people have been arrested after a shooting at the Mirum Galleria shopping center in Norrköping on Friday. One person was injured and taken to hospital, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The alarm was raised just before lunchtime, at 11:45 am, after people in the area heard loud bangs. Police dispatched significant resources to the mall and could quickly determine that the circumstances indicated a shooting had taken place.

According to media reports, a masked perpetrator shot a man inside one of the mall’s stores. The injured person was reportedly hit in the arm and was among customers and staff when the shots were fired.

After the shooting, the perpetrator fled on an electric scooter. According to witnesses, both the perpetrator and the victim are said to be in their 20s.

The injured person was taken to hospital by ambulance. According to police and hospital sources, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Several Arrested

During the day, police conducted a large-scale operation at the scene and cordoned off parts of the shopping center. On Friday evening, the police announced that three people had been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

The arrests followed several house searches and information provided by members of the public. A preliminary investigation has been launched, classified as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offense.
