A 12-year-old boy was subjected to a brutal assault in a villa in Västerås. A billiard cue was inserted into the boy’s anus, causing such severe injuries that he was close to dying and required emergency surgery. A 15-year-old boy is now charged with aggravated child rape – but claims himself that it was all just “play fighting.”

The incident occurred on March 21 this year when a group consisting of five youths with foreign names and a 12-year-old boy gathered at one of the youths’ homes in Västerås.

The youths knew each other from before, and several attended the same school. They were in the house’s basement to play billiards and play fight with each other.

During the play, a billiard cue was used to “poke” several of the youths. After this, attention is said to have turned to the 12-year-old boy.

According to his own account, he was chased around the billiard table and then pinned down on a sofa. He stated that two people held his arms while another took the billiard cue and inserted it into his anus.

“Stop, stop”

One of the youths testified that the boy screamed “stop, stop” and “seemed to be in pain.”

After the rape, the boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and later moved to Uppsala University Hospital for surgery.

Among other things, the boy was diagnosed with a perforated colon, which is a life-threatening condition.

Claimed Accident

The first version the boy gave was that he had fallen on a billiard cue. Later, however, he explained that he gave that account because he was afraid of his mother’s reaction.

The accused 15-year-old also stated that the boy had accidentally fallen on a billiard cue after play fighting among themselves. However, he later admitted in further interrogation that it was he who used the billiard cue against the boy.

He also stated that the youths had previously used the billiard cue to “poke” each other and that it was never his intention for the boy to be so seriously injured.

“Delete all fkn videos you have of me”

After the assault, several of the youths left the house and went to a nearby youth center. They later began discussing what should be said about the incident.

The police investigation contains chat messages where the youths discuss the incident, who risks being blamed, and which version should be given to the police.

In one message, the 15-year-old wrote “If anyone asks what we were playing (…) Say we were wrestling then he fkn fell on it”. He also wanted the other guys to “delete all fkn videos you have of me”.

Foreign 15-Year-Old Charged

A 15-year-old boy with a foreign name now stands charged with aggravated child rape. His position is that the act occurred within the context of play fighting and that he did not intend to harm the 12-year-old boy.

According to the police investigation, the 15-year-old and the 12-year-old boy are also related. This is one of the reasons the crime is considered aggravated.

A trial is now pending in Västmanlands District Court.
