SVT’s children’s program personality Tobbe Larsson has been charged with two cases of aggravated rape and one case of assault. This is stated in an indictment submitted to the Ystad District Court.

Beginning in 2009 and for several years, Tobbe Larsson hosted the show Ponnyakuten on Swedish public television, a program aimed at children and teenagers interested in horses.

After five seasons of Ponnyakuten, SVT followed up the investment with Tobbes guldbiljetter (“Tobbe’s Golden Tickets”), where children traveled with Tobbe Larsson to the Middle East to ride horses there.

Charged with aggravated rape

The now 50-year-old former children’s program personality is currently charged with two cases of aggravated rape and one count of assault. Prosecutor Peter Engström tells Samnytt that the case involves several different victims.

According to the indictment, Tobbe Larsson mixed narcotic substances into alcohol, which he then gave to his victims. When the victims were under the influence, he assaulted them. The first rape was committed in August 2022 and the second in May 2024.

According to the indictment, the third victim was drugged but not subjected to any sexual assault, and the incident has therefore been classified as assault.

During the investigation, there have been suspicions that Tobbe Larsson had sexually assaulted more individuals. Last month, the prosecutor decided to drop an investigation regarding an alleged aggravated rape in April 2019.

Tobbe Larsson was arrested in June last year, detained shortly thereafter, and has remained in custody since then. He denies any wrongdoing.
