In Novus’ February poll, the Christian Democrats slip back below the four percent threshold and join the Liberals, who are now struggling to scrape together a couple of percent in support.
With a drop of 0.5 percentage points, the Christian Democrats end up just below the threshold this time. As usual, the Liberals are even further below and show no sign of recovery – 2.1 percent is the lowest the party has ever received in Novus’ polls.
The Sweden Democrats’ position as the second largest party remains secure with a healthy margin. Otherwise, there are generally small changes, although the opposition’s lead increases slightly – 52.3 versus 46.3 percent.
Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO of Novus, notes that the situation looks tough for Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M).
– It looks very difficult. The Sweden Democrats are very strong right now. The Moderates are stagnant, and their supporting parties would fall out of government if there were an election today, he says.
