A school trip to Skansen in Stockholm ended in chaos on Friday. A group of high school students reportedly caused havoc in the zoo by, among other things, chasing pigs, throwing objects at the baboons, and taking a golf cart.

The incident near the baboons was first noticed by staff at Skansen Aquarium. Skansen states that no animals or parts of the facility have been damaged.

Skansen’s security department had to handle the situation, and the school group was also expelled from the premises.

An employee at Skansen has strongly criticized the behavior of the youths, as well as the teachers who accompanied them and are said to have been completely unconcerned about the students’ actions.

– It is incredibly disrespectful, especially from the teachers who don’t seem to care, an employee at Skansen told Aftonbladet.

Skansen states that they will now review what happened internally and look at how similar situations can be prevented in the future.

– The baboons are doing well and neither animals nor facilities have been harmed. The school group has left Skansen, and we are now handling the incident internally, Emelie Strömfors told Aftonbladet.
