Over one hundred people across Sweden have reportedly been deceived in a large-scale scheme involving fake car advertisements.

Peter Bergström and his son Alexander Bessik have been remanded in absentia. They are suspected, along with other individuals, of running an operation in which cars were advertised on Blocket despite buyers never being given the opportunity to purchase the vehicles they had paid for.

The group’s scam is said to have involved luring car buyers with advertisements and then demanding a deposit.

According to the reports, the requested deposit amounts varied greatly – from around 5,000 kronor up to as much as 140,000 kronor per person.

In total, the suspicions concern more than 100 affected people in different parts of the country. Now the police are hunting the father, known as Peter Bergström, and his son Alexander Bessik.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two men or the fraud scheme is urged to contact the TV3 program Efterlyst at 08–702 00 90 or the police at 114 14.
