Three separate fundraising campaigns have been held for the benefit of the young father and police officer Christian Zedig, 32, who was murdered during a World Cup celebration in Copenhagen. One of the campaigns has now concluded, and a total of 472,721 kronor has been sent on to the family. Two campaigns are still ongoing, and together they have raised nearly 2.5 million kronor. In total, almost 3 million kronor has been collected.
The murder of 32-year-old police officer Christian Zedig shocked Sweden. He had traveled to Copenhagen to watch Sweden’s World Cup match against France with friends. During the evening, a fight broke out in which the Swede allegedly intervened in an attempt to deescalate the situation. He was then attacked and later died from his injuries.
Several people subsequently took the initiative to organize fundraisers for the family—a mother and two children. Among the organizers is Mustafa Panshiri, a conservative commentator and police officer.
His fundraising campaign closed today, collecting a total of 472,721 kronor for the wife and children. To everyone who contributed, the wife responded that it means more than words can describe and gives them strength.

In addition to Panshiri’s campaign, the Blue Light in Cooperation Foundation has also collected funds. The foundation’s purpose is to support colleagues in the police, coast guard, customs, fire and rescue services, and ambulance care.
As of July 5, the fundraising had collected 1,050,000 kronor for the family, and it is still possible to donate.
