The ongoing investigation into suspected election fraud in Borlänge appears to have entered a new phase. Early on Tuesday morning, plainclothes officers from the National Operations Department (Noa) conducted raids on at least three apartments in the city. All addresses are linked to the high-profile election fraud investigation.
The police operation began around half past six on Tuesday morning in the residential area of Tjärna ängar in Borlänge. Two plainclothes officers entered an apartment and later left the residence with a large brown bag.
They traveled in an unmarked vehicle registered to the police’s National Operations Department in Stockholm. This was reported by Expressen.
Around the same time, another raid took place in the nearby area of Jakobsgårdarna. There, another team of plainclothes police officers was seen leaving an apartment, one of them carrying a large backpack.

Later in the morning, just before nine o’clock, another police operation was carried out at a third address in Tjärna ängar. Here too, the officers were from Noa and in plain clothes.
What unites the three addresses is that, according to Expressen’s sources, they can all be linked to the ongoing investigation into suspected election fraud in Borlänge. This is information that Samnytt has also obtained and can report.
Despite the extensive police activity, it remains unclear what specific actions were carried out in the residences and whether anyone has been detained or notified of suspicion of a crime.
The preliminary investigation is being handled by the National Anti-Corruption Unit, where prosecutor Oskar Edvardsson has previously stated that no individual has been notified of suspicion. That statement was made several weeks ago, and since then the prosecutor has declined to provide further details on the progress of the investigation.
