A few days ago, it was Carl Bildt who condemned the new U.S. national security strategy, warning of the collapse of European civilization as “extremist rubbish.” Now, he is supported by another former Swedish prime minister.

Just over a week ago, the contents of the new American national security strategy were revealed, painting a bleak future for Europe, with its civilization at risk of extinction within the next 20 years.

In addition to the consequences of mass immigration, it also warned that the EU poses a threat to freedom of speech. This caused outrage among Europe’s left-liberal politicians, while large parts of the respective populations agree with the assessment.

– There is quite a bit of extremist rubbish in an otherwise partially normal document, Carl Bildt told state television.

Now Svenska Dagbladet finds Fredrik Reinfeldt’s opinion on the strategy interesting. Reinfeldt, who perhaps more than any other Swedish politician embodies the Swedish immigration debacle, believes that the strategy is further evidence that the U.S. is moving away from an open, so-called value-based world order to a geographically divided world order.

Despite demographic data in many countries with open borders – such as Sweden – speaking for itself, he also believes that the strategy reflects “a right-authoritarian view based on the theory of population replacement” and rejects that it is an ongoing process.

– It is in parts entirely racist. That the only real people are those who look the same, naturally white and who have lived here for generations. The rest are somehow not really part of the country, he told the newspaper.

Does not see the connection

According to Reinfeldt, the fact that Trump’s administration views and wants to support patriotic parties constitutes “a very right-authoritarian view of the world”.

At the same time, he warns that Europe is facing “severe trials” but fails to link the rising support for national conservative parties to the fact that harmful policies have been pursued and that this is something that the respective people now reject.

– We have a trial ahead of us. What should we do then? Well, it is up to each democratic system to present alternatives to this and also of course point out how dangerous this direction is because it shuts down a lot of the values we take for granted.

Self-destructive Americans

He does not want to comment further on next year’s Swedish election but says that Sweden is affected by everything that happens in the world, and that what is truly significant for Europe is what happens in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.

Finally, Reinfeldt believes that the “much higher conflict level” in the long run will diminish the importance of the U.S. in the world and that what they are engaging in now is “self-destructive”.

In connection with an article about Carl Bildt’s assessment that immigration to Sweden is working well and that the rampant gang crime is only a “marginal phenomenon”, we asked readers what they think of the former M leader’s analytical ability:

Now we wonder what you think of Reinfeldt:
