In Verian’s first opinion poll after the summer break, there is no sign of recovery for the Tidö parties. Here, the opposition maintains a ten percentage point lead.
In the polls leading up to the election, it has looked as if the red-green opposition would easily win next month’s election. As election day approaches, the gap has, however, decreased in some polls – but this is not reflected in Verian’s August poll.
Here, the Tidö parties receive 43.9 percent of the votes, while the opposition gets 53.9 percent.
Since the Liberals remain at the bottom with just under two percent, the party falls below the parliamentary threshold and thus receives no mandates at all.
C surges ahead
The winner of this poll is the Centre Party, making a significant advance – from 5.4 percent in June to eight percent in August. C hasn’t scored this high in Verian’s polls since 2021, when the party was led by Annie Lööf.
If you believe Per Söderpalm, Head of Public Opinion at Verian, it is already over for the Tidö government, as there has never before been an example of a comeback of this kind in such a short time.
