On Wednesday afternoon, an elderly man was shot inside a store in northwest Stockholm. In connection with the arrest of the suspected shooter, a police patrol was reportedly fired upon.
Gang violence continues to shake Sweden on a daily basis. Just hours after five bombings and a fatal shooting at Lund Central Station, another shooting has occurred.

At 3:27 PM, the police received a report of a shooting in the troubled area of Husby. A police patrol in the area responded to the call and found a man with gunshot wounds in what is described as a kiosk or store.

The injured man is reportedly in his 65s and is said to be seriously injured.
Fired at police
Police spokesman Daniel Wikdahl stated that the suspected perpetrator fired at the police, and the patrol returned fire. Neither the suspected perpetrator nor the police were hit by the shots.

Shortly after the exchange of fire, the man was arrested by the police. Additionally, the authorities are searching for more perpetrators and have therefore halted traffic at the Husby subway station.
