As parties on the left increasingly rely on immigrant votes to achieve their political goals, these are also the groups they are turning to more frequently ahead of the election. One such party is the Left Party, which in Arabic-language ads portrays itself as the main opposition to the government’s allegedly racist policies.
A few weeks ago, Samnytt reported on how the Social Democrats are advertising in Arabic, including on the Arabic-language site Al Kompis. There, it is stated among other things that “the Social Democrats pursue an economic policy that gives more money to ordinary people” and that they “want to prioritize support for struggling workers, ordinary families, and pensioners during a time of economic uncertainty and rising costs for everything from electricity and fuel to food and interest rates.”

The Centre Party is also advertising in Arabic on the site, promising to fight racism and discrimination.
The closer the election gets, the sharper the tone becomes from the left side in Arabic-language forums, notes journalist Kassem Hamadé.

Racism and Discrimination
In the party’s Arabic ads, warnings are issued about a development where laws on revoked citizenship, stricter requirements, and changed rights—as the Left Party claims—could threaten the future of migrants in Sweden. The message also raises concerns that children with immigrant backgrounds might feel unwelcome or be treated as second-class citizens.
It is further claimed that racism and discrimination are gradually being turned into official policy and legislation. At the same time, the Left Party is presented as the political force that most clearly opposes this development and defends the rights of migrants, diversity, and social justice.
The message concludes with a call to Arabic-speaking voters not to remain passive but to use their right to vote to defend their rights and their children’s future. The Left Party is presented as the alternative that can protect them against the described developments, with an appeal to vote for the party.
