A chief at Kävlinge sewage treatment plant used municipal funds to build a dog park for his own dog on the premises.
The chief in question wanted to bring his dog to work, and therefore decided to build a dog park on the premises. At the same time, both he and other chiefs around him ignored procurement rules during the construction, and the management team was unaware of the construction.
“The dog park came to our attention in connection with an investigation we conducted,” says Lina Rosenstråle, head of the Community Development sector within Kävlinge municipality, to SVT.
Furthermore, the chief made purchases totaling hundreds of thousands of kronor without receipts. After the municipality’s investigation and confrontation, the chief resigned voluntarily last summer. The municipality has reported the former chief to the police.
Another chief has been bought out, but here the lid is on, and the municipality does not disclose more information.
