A municipal elderly care facility in Värmland has been reported after residents were forced to relieve themselves in bed.

It is a nursing home in Sunne municipality that has self-reported under the Lex Sarah to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate.

According to Frida Vasiliou, the municipality’s social responsibility coordinator, the elderly residents have been forced to relieve themselves on a plastic sheet hanging in lifting slings.

‘It’s tragic, but that’s how it has been. But now we are addressing this,’ says Frida Vasiliou to the local newspaper NWT.
