A Friday evening of football and floorball at Kämpetorpshallen in Solberga, southern Stockholm, ended in chaos when shots were fired inside the facility. A woman in her mid-20s was taken to hospital with very serious injuries. Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder, but the shooter has not been apprehended.
While police searched the area, junior players, leaders, and spectators from Älvsjö AIK Innebandy were kept upstairs for about an hour. The shots were fired in a different part of the facility than where the matches were being played. According to the club, none of its members were injured or involved.
The alert came shortly after nine o’clock in the evening. The woman was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital. Her relatives have been notified.
Several Questioned but No Arrests
The perpetrator had already fled when police arrived. Several people in the area were checked and some were brought in for questioning, but none have been arrested, reports Expressen.
Train Traffic Halted
Commuter trains passing Älvsjö station were stopped for a while during the operation. Later in the evening, the hall was emptied and forensic technicians began examining the crime scene.
Hammarby IF was simultaneously holding an event in the hall as part of its community project Samhällsmatchen. The club does not wish to comment on the incident.
