Shortly after the bloody terror attack at Bondi Beach in Australia, police on Thursday arrested a group of men believed to have been on their way to the same location, where intelligence agencies suggested they may have been planning ‘an act of violence.’
Heavily armed police intervened and rammed the men’s car. According to reports, a classified high-level briefing was held before the operation. In addition to the New South Wales state police, the federal police and intelligence agency ASIO also participated.
According to Australian media it remains unclear whether the men posed a threat to the public or why they were headed to Bondi Beach, but so soon after the terror attack, no risks are being taken.
