When a journalist put out a call for tips to investigate anti-Swedish hostility, figures from the left-liberal establishment quickly came forward to ridicule and belittle the issue. These are cases where Swedes have been subjected to humiliation and violence because they are Swedish. Despite testimony and court rulings concerning such incidents, the phenomenon does not seem to be acknowledged by the left-liberal establishment.

Samnytt was likely one of the first Swedish newspapers to actively and in detail bring attention to the phenomenon of anti-Swedish hostility, where often young people are subjected to violence and other forms of humiliation because they are Swedish.

Several years ago, we published video clips showing people being humiliated due to their Swedish identity. The clips spread widely, and the phenomenon was later noted by politicians and establishment media when it could no longer be overlooked.

Among the cases were videos where people urinated in the mouths of Swedes and subjected them to serious derogatory insults during the humiliation.

Below is such a case from 2020, where a Swedish boy is subjected to the act. Both perpetrators were later sentenced to youth care.

The journalist Pelle Zachrisson from the newspaper Kvartal has this weekend posted on social media, announcing that he will be investigating the phenomenon of anti-Swedish hostility in the future.

He is now looking for people who have themselves been affected, or whose family members have suffered. This could involve incidents at school, the workplace, elderly care, or in residential areas—where people feel they have been targeted because they are Swedes.

Mocked by Establishment Figures

At the end of last year, Samnytt reported that the government, at the initiative of the Sweden Democrats, had decided to let the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå) investigate how hate crime laws are applied, particularly if Swedes are being treated negatively.

The aim is to document an alleged imbalance in the justice system regarding which groups are protected by hate crime laws. The decision has stirred reactions, not least from the far-left site Expo.

In an episode of the organization’s podcast Studio Expo titled “The So-Called Anti-Swedish Hostility,” Expo’s Daniel Poohl and Niclas Nilsson criticized the government, claiming that the initiative serves the interests of far-right and white power movements.

In the podcast, the far-left site made significant efforts to cast suspicion on the very idea of investigating the issue. Poohl and Nilsson claimed that Brå’s assignment was an attempt to “twist around” the definition of racism and thus diminish the vulnerability of minorities.

If Swedes are given the same protections, they argue, it risks “making invisible” and pushing aside other groups they consider truly deserving of protection.

Figures from TT and ETC Respond

In connection with journalist Pelle Zackrisson’s call this weekend regarding anti-Swedish hostility, reactions again came from the left.

Former TT veteran Owe Nilsson swept in to mock the journalism, responding sarcastically to the post by telling a story about citizen journalist Nick Alinia.

Martin Aagård, formerly of Aftonbladet and now part of the, according to SVT, “independent red-green” newspaper, took a similar approach, belittling the call by highlighting a story from Norway.

Former Expressen profile Sebastian Mattsson amuses himself by laughing mockingly at the post. This is the same Mattsson who also made fun of the murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

Pelle Zachrisson asks ETC profile Martin Aagård what he actually hopes to achieve. “Is your point that anti-Swedish hostility doesn’t exist, or that it is an exaggerated problem?” he asks.
