At least three people were stabbed on Thursday at a train station in Switzerland. In video clips from the crime scene circulated on social media, a man can be heard shouting “Allahu akbar.” However, this detail is absent in several reports from Swedish establishment media, which instead focus on describing the perpetrator as a “Swiss man.”
The attack shook the Swiss city of Winterthur during morning rush hour, around 8:30 am. Three people – aged 28, 43, and 52 – were injured and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to establishment media such as the news agency TT and Dagens Nyheter, it concerns only a “Swiss man” and the motive is under investigation.

“Allahu akbar”
According to circulating information, the man shouted the Muslim war cry “Allahu akbar” at the crime scene.
At the time the man was running around with a knife at the scene, a group of children can also be seen standing and watching.

When media in, among others, Germany report on the incident, it is stated that the perpetrator is said to have shouted “Allahu akbar” at the scene—a detail that several Swedish establishment media, on the other hand, do not mention in their coverage.
The German newspaper Berliner Zeitung writes that the man repeatedly shouted “Allahu akbar” during the attack. The perpetrator is described as middle-aged, and according to the information, four people were stabbed. Police have also arrested the suspected man.
