Ahead of this autumn’s election, the Social Democrats are doing their best to appeal to the groups that now make up the party’s core voters.

After being nicknamed “Angry Andersson,” party leader Magdalena Andersson has been tasked in the Social Democrats’ campaign films with trying to appear as a cheerful person, flashing the broadest and most artificial smiles possible—something that has worked with mixed results.

In many immigrant-dense, so-called vulnerable areas, the Social Democrats often receive enormous support among those who vote, and now they want to ensure that these new core voters go to the polls in September.

A few days ago, the party’s official account on TikTok posted this message:

“This might be the craziest TikTok post of the year,” comments one user.

“Thanks bro, how quickly can I get a big benefit, bro?” writes another.

“Bro?” several people ask.

The Social Democrats’ account description reads: “Sweden’s largest party. Always on the side of the Swedish people.”

In 2021, it was former Left Party politician Linda Snecker who tried something similar:
