The 21-year-old gang member described in establishment media as a “Swedish man” and who has now been arrested in Spain after an international manhunt by both Europol and Interpol is Emin Muqa Kulic. He is pointed out as one of the leading figures within the Dalen network and is suspected of a series of serious violent crimes in Sweden, including directing child soldiers to carry out criminal assignments.
The arrest was carried out during the night to Saturday and was confirmed by Swedish authorities on Monday. According to information given to SVT, the operation was conducted in an apartment that previously belonged to the once imprisoned and severely criminal Jonas Falk.
The arrest took place after a European arrest warrant was issued against the man. In addition, he had already earlier this year been internationally wanted by both Europol and Interpol, and Spanish authorities will now consider the Swedish extradition request.
– This is another example which shows clear results from our international police cooperation. Step by step, we are decimating the violence-driven criminal networks, but much work remains to combat serious organized crime, says Deputy National Police Chief Stefan Hector.
Prosecutor Ida Arnell, who is leading several preliminary investigations against Emin Muqa Kulic—born in Växjö and connected to the Dalen gang network in southern Stockholm—states that the suspicions concern extensive serious criminality, and that the man is believed to have played a central role in directing young persons to carry out serious violent crimes in Sweden.
– We argue that the man has been one of those directing young people to perform serious violent crimes in Sweden, says the prosecutor.
Below is an excerpt from Interpol’s warrant regarding the crimes for which the suspected “Swede” is wanted:
Exceptionally aggravated assault, alternatively incitement to exceptionally aggravated assault; aggravated weapons crime, alternatively incitement to aggravated weapons crime; preparation for murder, alternatively incitement to murder; involvement of minors in criminal activity; aggravated unlawful threats, alternatively incitement to aggravated unlawful threats; attempted murder, alternatively incitement to attempted murder; public endangerment and aggravated crime under the law on flammable and explosive materials, alternatively incitement or aiding and abetting such crimes; aiding and abetting murder as well as incitement or aiding and abetting aggravated weapons crime and attempted murder.

“The Greek’s” Right-Hand Man
According to prosecutor Ida Arnell, the arrest is the result of extensive surveillance and close cooperation between Swedish and Spanish law enforcement authorities.
According to information to SVT, Emin Muqa Kulic may have stayed in Spain for at least a year. This means he may have been there at the same time Swedish authorities presumed he was in Mexico.
The same criminal investigation has previously included another suspected person, who was extradited from Mexico to Sweden last autumn. This concerns the Dalen network leader Mikael “The Greek” Tenezos.

The police have for a long time described Kulic as one of the leading figures within the Dalen network and a close associate of Mikael “The Greek” Tenezos. Both have previously been suspected of being together in Mexico.

The arrest is also commented on by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M), who thanks the police for their operation and stresses the importance of international cooperation in the fight against organized crime.
