A heated debate has erupted on X over a deportation case after the Sweden Democrats’ migration policy spokesperson Ludvig Aspling criticized a segment on Sveriges Radio, accusing it of distorting the facts.
The background is a segment published on Friday morning about an eight-month-old boy who was born in Sweden but is now to be deported to Iran, despite the family reportedly having residency permits.
According to Sveriges Radio, the mother received a work permit after a so-called ‘track change’, but since the regulations changed, relatives of those who changed tracks can no longer obtain residency permits.

The segment prompted Ludvig Aspling (SD) to respond, pointing out that the actual issue is that the parents’ track change was not extended, and since the child must follow the parents, it is not the child who has been issued a deportation order—a detail that the radio station completely distorts.

Another person spreading this misinformation is DN journalist Niklas Orrenius, whose inaccuracies Aspling also highlights:

In a longer exchange, Aspling explains the details further:

Busch: Unreasonable
Sveriges Radio’s deceptive reporting appears to have made an impact as Ebba Busch (KD) wrote on social media stating that “if what is reported about an 8-month-old baby is true, then it is unreasonable” but also that it is necessary to “clarify what has happened, and whether the reporting is accurate”.
