On Wednesday, the Sweden Democrats’ EU group ECR organized a seminar focusing on issues of social cohesion—including the risk of civil war in European countries. Charlie Weimers, together with the French MEP Marion Maréchal, hosted the event.
One of those who suggested that such a scenario could become reality was David Betz from King’s College London. Charlie Weimers also emphasized that there is a risk, but noted that it looks different depending on the country.

Also participating was Ralph G. Schoellhammer, whose main research field is political theory and international relations, with particular emphasis on how culture, values, and ideologies influence states’ behavior. Finally, Eoin Lenihan also contributed.
