Pontus Persson, vice chairman of the Sweden Democrats in Västerbotten, wants to keep immigrants segregated from Swedes “until repatriation is completed”.
– Segregation is the only way we have to preserve the Swedish [culture], he says.

During Saturday, Sweden Democrats party leader Jimmie Åkesson is holding his summer speech in Sölvesborg. And in connection with that, the party-affiliated YouTube channel Riks takes the opportunity to ask various more or less known Sweden Democrats what they think of the Social Democrats’ proposal to “mix” the population.

– This is their solution to the problem. They imagine that they will build high-rise buildings in residential areas. They will forcibly integrate and mix people. But they do not want to talk loudly about it, because they understand that if people understood what they actually wanted to do, hardly anyone would vote for them, says Member of Parliament and former group leader Henrik Vinge.

– When I hopefully have saved enough money in my pocket to move to a safe residential area, I would be very disappointed if the insecurity followed because of the Social Democrats, says the Sweden Democrat and former Riks profile Rebecka Fallenkvist.

“Segregation until repatriation is completed”

Pontus Persson, vice chairman of the party in Västerbotten and political secretary, however, advocates more radical solutions to the integration problems. He argues that, on the contrary, it is good if Swedes and immigrants are kept separate.

– Segregation is the only way we have to preserve the Swedish. Segregation or repatriation. That’s what matters, he tells Riks.

Or both?

– Both. Preferably! Segregation until repatriation is completed.

Until the beginning of the 2000s, the Sweden Democrats primarily advocated the “repatriation” of immigrants, with the aim of “recreating Sweden as a Swedish nation, both ethnically and culturally”. Since 2003, the party program also speaks of “assimilation” as a possible solution to the immigrant problems.
