Boden’s Social Democratic municipal council Claes Nordmark is suspected on probable cause of attempted rape. He himself reveals this.
There has been a criminal investigation against the local S-party leader for some time. Samnytt received tips about the suspicions at the beginning of last week.
On Tuesday, the Social Democrats in Boden announced that Nordmark was suspected of “a serious crime,” and on Wednesday, he himself revealed what the suspicions are about.
“The classification is attempted rape, which is a serious accusation. However, I want to be clear right now that I have not committed the alleged act and am completely innocent,” he said to Norrländska Socialdemokraten (NSD).

Worked for the government
Claes Nordmark has been the municipal council and chairman of the municipal executive board in Boden since the 2018 election. Before that, he worked as a political advisor for the government of Stefan Löfven. First at the Ministry of Rural Affairs and then at the Ministry of Enterprise.
The 48-year-old S-politician has been particularly involved in the construction of a new steel mill outside Boden, where the plan is to produce so-called green steel. Around 80 billion SEK has been invested in the project.
According to Swedish Radio, Nordmark is suspected on probable cause of attempted rape, but according to Luleå District Court, he has not been detained for a crime.
However, Nordmark has taken a “timeout” from politics due to the suspicions against him.
