On Wednesday morning, police received an alert about a suspected dangerous object on Jägersrovägen in Malmö. It turned out to be a hand grenade that had been placed at a building housing several companies.
The alarm was raised at 7:20 a.m. and shortly after that the business was evacuated and the entire area was cordoned off. An hour later, the National Bomb Squad arrived to examine the object and could confirm that it was live.
At 9:40 a.m., the police announced that the object had been secured, examined for evidence, and seized. It was then also made clear that it was a hand grenade, which indicates the classification of the crime as preparation for public devastation or alternatively, a violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods.

The police are, among other things, reviewing surveillance cameras in the area and are seeking tips from the public. They are also conducting interviews with people in the area.
Car Dealership
Another aspect the police will investigate is whether there are any threats against any of the businesses in the building. There is said to be a car dealership among them.
No person has been arrested or is suspected in the case.
