Leif GW Persson escalates his criticism of Migration Minister Johan Forssell. In a new statement, the popular criminologist launches a fierce attack against the minister and the Tidö government’s migration policies, accusing them of engaging in “ethnic cleansing.”
At the same time, GW uses extremely harsh language about the migration minister and calls him a “bastard.” The attack comes after Persson has previously made strong criticisms of Forssell and the government’s migration policy on several occasions.
The conflict between GW Persson and Johan Forssell is far from new. In February, the criminologist sided with an activist who was on trial after high-profile actions outside the homes of Forssell and Aid Minister Benjamin Dousa. Outside Forssell’s home, the activist had placed apples with Hitler’s face painted on them.

In an interview with TV4’s Nyhetsmorgon, GW said that he supported the defendant and even considered paying his legal fees. SVT reported that GW regarded the action as an expression of freedom of speech. The statement was met with harsh criticism from within the government.
GW also expanded on his criticism of Forssell’s migration policy. He told Göteborgs-Posten that he thought it was “horrible what they are doing” when the government enforces deportations to countries where the affected individuals risk being exposed to serious dangers.
Even then, GW used very strong language about the government’s migration policy and described Forssell’s policy as something others besides himself would describe as “almost ethnic cleansing.”
New Attack
This new attack is thus a continuation of an already tense conflict between the well-known criminologist and the migration minister. GW has gone from criticizing individual decisions and the migration policy at large to directing increasingly harsh personal attacks at Forssell.
