In several recent polls, the Social Democrats have seen significant declines—and now another survey shows the party losing multiple percentage points. Meanwhile, the Liberals are climbing towards the parliamentary threshold.

This time, Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democrats are down by 3.2 percentage points. It’s the ninth consecutive poll showing a decrease for the party.

The last time the Social Democrats had such low numbers was in 2021, when Stefan Löfven stepped down as party leader. If the party’s election result ends up at 27.1 percent, it would be the Social Democrats’ worst showing since universal suffrage was introduced.

The Sweden Democrats are also down somewhat and are now only marginally bigger than the Moderates.

Satisfaction with the Government

Back in June, the Liberals had just one percent support in Ipsos polls—now it has climbed to 3.5 percent, an increase of 1.2 percentage points since the previous survey.

However, the opposition’s lead remains at about eight percentage points. At the same time, the survey shows that, for the first time this parliamentary term, more people now believe the government is doing a good job than disapprove of it.
