On Friday, Aftonbladet and Expressen reported that a “Swede” had been arrested at Arlanda Airport. This came after the United Arab Emirates deported the man, who was internationally wanted by Sweden through Interpol. According to Interpol’s website, he is suspected of attempted murder.

After nearly five years on the run, the man suspected of the shooting in Rågsved at the beginning of 2021 has now been apprehended. The individual in question is 24-year-old William Suso, who was arrested at Arlanda Airport after police in the United Arab Emirates, at Sweden’s request, took him into custody and sent him to Stockholm via Turkey. During the transfer, he was escorted by Turkish police, reports Aftonbladet.

The shooting took place on the evening of January 1, 2021 in a residential area in Rågsved, southern Stockholm. A man was in the laundry room and then went outside into the yard, where he was suddenly attacked. Two men opened fire and the man was hit by four bullets—in the legs, shoulder, and stomach. The victim survived the attack, which was witnessed by several people.

One of the suspected perpetrators was arrested shortly thereafter and was later convicted for involvement in the shooting. The other suspect, William Suso, managed to escape and disappeared. Since 2021 he has also been internationally wanted but had managed to remain hidden in Dubai.

Furthermore, Aftonbladet reports that he is also suspected of several serious drug offenses, including drug smuggling. He is also described as a central figure within organized crime in Sweden, which he is believed to have directed via encrypted messages from abroad.
