The Tidö Government’s crackdown to bring home ‘Swedes’ suspected of orchestrating gang violence and drug trafficking in Sweden, who have been evading justice abroad, continues to yield results. In recent times, more and more gang criminals have been returned to Sweden to stand trial. Now, 26-year-old Ildar “Scar” Galiyev has also been extradited from Greece, where he served a prison sentence for, among other things, weapons offenses. At the same time, he is suspected of having played a leading role in violent acts in Sweden before his arrest.

Swedish authorities have for some time worked to have Ildar “Scar” Galiyev extradited to Sweden. For several years, he has had a prominent role in the notorious criminal group, the Dalen Network, in southern Stockholm. The network controls parts of the drug market and has been involved in conflicts with rivals, including Rawa “The Kurdish Fox” Majid’s network elsewhere in Sweden.

The Prosecutor’s Office now sees the opportunity to initiate legal proceedings on Swedish soil. The investigation against Galiyev has been ongoing since 2023 and involves suspicions of serious violent crimes including shootings and bombings across Sweden, allegedly committed in 2023 and 2024. The charges include murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated weapons offenses.

On Wednesday, a detention hearing will be held at Södertörn District Court regarding a long list of gang-related crimes.

From Kazakhstan – Cannot Be Deported

Samnytt can report that Ildar Galiyev is from Zharkent in Kazakhstan. He registered as a resident in Sweden in 2007 and became a Swedish citizen in 2019. If convicted of the serious violent crimes he is now suspected of, his citizenship could in theory be reviewed and he risks being deported to Kazakhstan.

Imprisoned in Greece

Until his extradition to Sweden, Galiyev was imprisoned in Greece. He was arrested there in summer 2024 with weapons and narcotics and sentenced to 20 months in prison. After serving his sentence, he was released on February 7 and subsequently handed over to Sweden. He arrived in Stockholm on the same day.

For several years, he has also been named as the main suspect in the murder of the successful gangster rapper Nils Grönberg, better known as Einár. Due to lack of evidence, however, no formal charge has ever been brought in that case.
