A 20-year-old Afghan man is suspected of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at a school in Germany. A 19-year-old man is said to have held the girl down during the assault.

The incident occurred in the city of Koblenz on April 28 at the girl’s school. According to police, the 20-year-old man entered the school’s restroom where he attacked the girl. His 19-year-old friend is suspected of holding her down at the time.

The girl told her older sister about the assault two days later. The family managed to track down the suspect to a nearby residence and then contacted the police.

The man was arrested on May 4 and is currently in custody. The 19-year-old accomplice is still at large and is being investigated as a suspect.

The prosecutor has filed charges against the 20-year-old man for sexual assault of a minor on school grounds. The man was previously under investigation for another suspected sexual offense. He has also been fined for possession of a blank-firing pistol without a license.

The police chose to make the case public after false images and rumors spread on social media, which led to concern in the community. According to investigators, the situation has now calmed down. The school has set up a crisis team to support students and parents. New security measures have also been put in place to protect the students.

The 20-year-old man is an Afghan citizen, as confirmed by the prosecutor’s office in Koblenz.
