Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warns his own people against adopting “the Russian stance” regarding the war in the country. He says this in a Youtube video.
– We have our Ukrainian state stance, he says.

Last week, a plan for Ukraine, allegedly coming from the Trump administration, was circulated. A plan with 28 points promising to guarantee peace for the war-torn country.

And over the weekend, American and Ukrainian delegates met in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss the American peace proposal. Talks that, according to the White House, have been “constructive, focused, and respectful”.

“We have our Ukrainian state stance”

For the Ukrainian president, it is important that the country maintains a united front when entering into negotiations. Something that he does not perceive from all of his countrymen.

– It is highly desirable that no conflicting signals, non-Ukrainian signals, come from Ukraine. I now hear from intelligence agencies that we collaborate with, that the Russian stance has begun to influence some Ukrainian actors as well. It really does not help! says Zelensky in a recent Youtube video and continues:

– We have our Ukrainian state stance, we have our Ukrainian dignity, and we must move in a direction that strengthens it, not undermines it. I expect those it concerns to listen to me now: Having a Ukrainian passport means feeling responsible for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president also talks in the video about long and intense negotiations in Geneva.

– Ukraine has never wanted this war, and we will never stand in the way of peace, says Volodymyr Zelensky.
