Since the night before Boxing Day, a large-scale police operation has been underway to find a 25-year-old woman who disappeared in the municipality of Salem, south of Stockholm. The police search has been ongoing since Friday afternoon and includes helicopters, dog units, and ground resources.

On Boxing Day, a major police operation was launched in the area near Rönninge commuter train station after a woman in her mid-twenties vanished without a trace while on her way home from the station.

The latest sign is that she was seen on surveillance footage walking away from the train station around 1:20 am. Police have reportedly made some suspicious discoveries in the area and have also received tips but are not providing further details at this time.

The operation has now been further intensified and includes so-called rescue services, which means that civilians can participate. Among the volunteers are members of SAR Sweden, an organization that works with search and rescue operations.
