Samnytt was the first Swedish media outlet to reveal, already this past weekend, that the 26-year-old suspected of dismembering and murdering the missing 25-year-old woman south of Stockholm is a transvestite and previously convicted pedophile, who now goes by the name Vilma Andersson – a name that is classified by Swedish authorities. On Tuesday, the man, who had previously been sentenced to a short prison term for, among other things, an attempted kidnapping of a ten-year-old girl, was remanded in custody.

The 25-year-old woman had been out with friends on Christmas Day evening. She was last seen at Rönninge commuter train station around 1:30 AM. The final registered signal from her mobile phone was recorded at 1:50 AM, the night after Christmas Day.

The man was apprehended by police on Saturday evening at 21:22 after a surveillance operation that lasted ten hours. According to media reports, the transvestite was in the process of handling and burying body parts at the time. Upon arrest, he is said to have stated himself that these were the remains of the missing woman. Furthermore, the man reportedly admitted involvement in the murder.

The prosecutor suspects him of both murder and gross violation of grave peace, but several key details about the incident are still unclear.

Previously convicted for attempted kidnapping

The man has previously been convicted of attempting to kidnap a girl around ten years old who was on her way home from school. According to the verdict, he had meticulously planned the crime and obtained objects used in the attempt, which occurred in broad daylight in a residential area. At the time, he was deemed to have been close to carrying out the act.

When police conducted a search of the perpetrator’s home, they found over 42,500 child pornographic images. Additionally, he possessed child pornographic films and images of dead and naked women’s bodies as well as search history regarding drugging girls and their dead bodies.

He was convicted in Solna District Court of attempted kidnapping and serious child pornography offenses. But despite the crimes, the court determined that a prison sentence of two years and four months was an appropriate penalty. According to the rules for conditional release, the kidnapping pedophile was released back onto the streets after about one year and seven months in prison.
