The Social Democrats, through their company AIP Media, run a number of “troll accounts” on various social media platforms. One of these is called “Jävla uland”. Through these media channels, the party attempted to target Ebba Busch Thor, but the caption in the post ended up affecting even Magdalena Andersson, something that even left-wing journalist Max V Karlsson noted.

In recent years, so-called “troll accounts” have received a lot of attention, not least when TV4 attempted to hype up the Sweden Democrats’ alleged “troll factory.” In the following criticism, TV4’s reporter Emil Hellrud admitted that they had not succeeded in linking the identified accounts to the Sweden Democrats.

What has not received as much attention is that AiP Media, the heart of the Social Democrats’ troll factory, has received over 120 million kronor in various forms of press subsidies. This is evident from data from the Media Authority. It also turned out that the S-troll factories might be illegal because a new EU regulation requires transparency regarding political ads.

For example, in 2024, the party has been spending quite large sums of money on their Facebook pages. The Social Democrats are spending several million kronor to increase the reach of their posts. This is something that Facebook owner Meta outlines via the Ad Library tool.

But despite the large sums the Social Democrats are spending on this, they are now being mocked for their quality – even by a left-wing journalist.

Mocks Their Own Party Leader

It was in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that left-wing journalist Max V Karlsson highlighted a post from one of the Social Democrats’ anonymous troll accounts.

In the Social Democrats’ post, they wanted to campaign against Ebba Busch, but the caption in the post also affected Magdalena Andersson. This did not even impress Karlsson, who commented that the “artistic merit” does not seem to be very high within the Social Democrats.

The post is said to have later been removed.
