The gap between the Tidö government and the red-green opposition has more than halved since June. With one month left until the election, the difference between the blocs is now 3.7 percentage points.

The red-green opposition, S, C, MP, and V, receive 50.6 percent, while M, KD, SD, and L gather 46.9 percent. This is shown by a new poll from Demoskop commissioned by Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet.

The Christian Democrats are one of the poll’s clear winners. The party gets 7.5 percent, the highest result in over six years. According to Demoskop, some of KD’s increased support comes from voters who previously backed the Social Democrats and the Centre Party.

At the same time, the Liberals only receive 2.4 percent, placing them below the parliamentary threshold and affecting the distribution of seats. The opposition would get 186 seats, while M, KD, and SD together would get 163.

The Centre Party moves ahead to 7.3 percent, surpassing both the Left Party and the Green Party. Meanwhile, the Green Party has lost 1.5 percentage points since May.

The poll is based on 2,016 interviews conducted between July 29 and August 10. Since there was no poll carried out in July, it is not possible to determine exactly when the shift between the blocs occurred.
