One party stands out significantly when the country’s ice hockey players are asked about how they would vote. Several parties also receive zero percent support.

With only half a year to go until the next election, the red-green opposition still has a slight lead in the polls. However, that does not necessarily mean much when push comes to shove.

If Swedish ice hockey players got to decide the election, the Swedish parliament would look very different from what it does today, with one party having its own majority by a wide margin.

In the survey that Aftonbladet sent out to players in the SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan in January, 76 responses were received, so the result should be taken with quite a large grain of salt, but it can still be interesting to see where the sentiment is heading.

The Moderates far ahead in first place

The Moderates end up completely dominant with just over 60 percent. Then there is a considerable gap to the runner-up Sweden Democrats, who receive 26 percent.

Below the Moderates and Sweden Democrats, there is barely a couple of percent support for three parties, followed by another three parties at zero percent each.

Notably in this context, the Christian Democrats receive zero percent while the Liberals get 1.9 percent – also notable is the relatively high support for ‘other’ parties.
