SD politician Daniel Hribar in Västerås has been charged with aggravated child pornography crimes. This is stated in court documents that Samnytt has reviewed. The 25-year-old politician admits to the crime.
– I have had a very heavy and difficult background and upbringing, says Daniel Hribar to Samnytt.
It was in the morning of March 19 last year that police raided a residence in Västerås. Daniel Hribar lives at that address; he is a local politician for the Sweden Democrats in the city.
Since February this year, Hribar is, among other roles, a board member for the Sweden Democrats in Västerås and is also a member of the church council for the party in the same city.

The decision to conduct a house search of the 25-year-old politician’s home was made at lunchtime the day before the raid, by senior prosecutor Anna Elmlöv. The reason is suspicions that Hribar committed aggravated child pornography crimes.
Kidflix
At the beginning of 2025, police in Bavaria, Germany, conducted an operation to track down and halt child pornography material online. During this work, investigators stumbled across a site on the so-called darknet named Kidflix.
Kidflix is just like Netflix, which inspired the name, a streaming service for films. But instead of regular movies and TV series, it is child pornography films that visitors can watch on the site.
Kidflix contains over 50,000 child pornography films. A premium subscription to the service costs 15 dollars a month, or 90 dollars for a whole year. For that price, users can watch as many child pornography films as they want in the highest video quality.
Users who upload child pornography films to the site receive so-called “candies” – points that can be exchanged for premium access to the site.
This is a previously unknown commercial child pornography site, which has been running for several years. And
1.8 Million Users
Over the years it has been active, Kidflix has had around 1.8 million users worldwide. If not the largest, it is at least one of the largest child pornography sites in the world.
But because users pay for the service with cryptocurrency and log in via anonymity servers, it is difficult for police investigators to identify them. Users take great pains not to be discovered.

However, the German police managed to track down hundreds of users in nearly 40 different countries. And one of those whom investigators managed to identify, through the address he used for one of his cryptocurrency payments, was Daniel Hribar in Västerås.
When Swedish police raided the SD politician’s address in March last year, they found four child pornography images and 581 child pornography films. 540 films, with a total runtime of 97 hours and 55 minutes, were assessed as containing “especially ruthless abuse material”.
The films depict “particularly young” children being subjected to various forms of sexual abuse, which are considered especially egregious.
Admits Guilt
When Daniel Hribar was questioned by the police, he admitted to the crime. He claims to have confessed his sins to God.
– I am a believer, and what I do is not good according to my faith, he states.
When Samnytt talks to Daniel Hribar, he claims that the crime he is now charged with was committed in 2022. And that it was before he became active in the Sweden Democrats.
– This crime was committed in 2022, and I question the prosecutor’s case description where the time of the crime is given as March 19, 2025.
– If you define it so that possession itself is a crime, which it indeed is, then you could see it that way. I see it more as coming into possession of the material is the real crime.
So you mean that you downloaded these images and films in 2022. Then you have had them on your computer for several years?
– Yes, exactly. These have been in the cloud, so they haven’t been actively on the computer, if you look at it that way.
Difficult Upbringing
The SD politician explains his viewing of severe child pornography by referencing his own upbringing.
– I don’t think it’s right to come out with a sob story, but I’ve had a very heavy and difficult background and upbringing. That has obviously taken its toll on my mental health, he says.
– Everything from diagnoses to diagnosed depression, addiction, and such things. So it was not a sober and healthy individual making a conscious decision.
But child pornography? I don’t get the connection. If you’re feeling bad, does watching naked children make you feel better?
– If you look at it broadly, it is in fact more common for people who are struggling and in addiction to commit crimes. That’s no secret. The chance is greater that you commit crimes when you find yourself in that situation in life.
Has Left the Party
After the indictment for aggravated child pornography was brought against Daniel Hribar, he has left the Sweden Democrats. This is confirmed by Joakim Bengtsson, who is the local SD chairman, to Samnytt.
– When we found out, he was gone from the party, he says.
He reports that the party was not aware of the police investigation against the 25-year-old politician, which has been ongoing for more than a year. That explains how he was elected to the board as recently as February this year.
– In the new board, we had no idea whatsoever about this, otherwise he wouldn’t have been allowed to participate at all. I can say that, says Joakim Bengtsson.

– You could say that, to put it mildly.
