After a period of apparent calm on the surface in the criminal underworld, shootings have now surged again with several incidents in recent days.

On Wednesday, a man in his late teens was seriously injured after a shooting on an SL bus in Tyresö. At the time, about 20 passengers were onboard, and the incident happened as the driver had stopped at a bus stop to let passengers on and off.

An unknown perpetrator was seen fleeing the scene, and several nearby schools were locked down. As of Thursday morning, no suspect had been apprehended.

A few hours later on Wednesday, another shooting occurred in Rosengård. There, a 15-year-old boy was shot and taken to hospital by ambulance with unclear injuries. Later, the police announced that he had died from his injuries.

A 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and are jointly suspected of murder and serious weapons offenses. A man in his mid-30s is also in custody on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.

Murder at Football Field

On Tuesday morning, a man in his mid-40s was shot in Solna. It is unclear whether the shooting took place indoors or outdoors. The man was taken to the hospital and his condition was described as stable. Later that day, the police reported that a person had been detained and a preliminary investigation into suspected attempted murder had begun.

On Monday, a 17-year-old boy was shot at a football field in Vårby. After being taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police announced the following day that the boy had died and the incident is being investigated as murder. Several people were nearby during the shooting. Police suspect that a woman seen at the scene may be involved in the shooting.

Wrong Target

On Saturday, a football player was shot dead in Örebro. The 20-year-old was found in a parking lot. The man played for the football team BK Forward and had no prior criminal record or known ties to the police. There is no evidence connecting the incident to gang-related crime.

According to reports, the victim was not the intended target and was at the scene with at least one other acquaintance when the shots were fired.

Last Wednesday, a man in his early 20s was found with gunshot wounds in a stairwell in Halmstad. Two people in their 20s and 35s were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and serious weapons offenses. Both were released on Thursday following a prosecutor’s decision. According to the police, suspicions remain but have weakened.

On March 7, shots were also fired in Fagersjö and Malmö.
