According to Morgan Johansson (S), trying to clean up after decades of severely mismanaged immigration policy is “ethnic cleansing”—something that makes Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson furious.

The enormous and increasingly complicated and deep-rooted problems that have arisen, in part due to Morgan Johansson’s policies, have meant that measures to even attempt to solve them must become ever tougher. That Johansson and his then-government colleagues themselves created and forced the need for ever stricter solutions appears to escape the Social Democrat leader.

The claim that the Tidö government is engaging in “ethnic cleansing” infuriates Jimmie Åkesson. The statement originally comes from LO profile Mats Eriksson, husband of Ann Linde, and has been repeated by Johansson:

“It is a completely mindless act that should reasonably disqualify him from any serious political assignment in the future,” writes the Sweden Democrats leader, noting at the same time that Johansson is trivializing some of history’s worst crimes against humanity.

“Morgan Johansson is the Social Democrats’ spokesperson on foreign affairs and Magdalena Andersson’s candidate for foreign minister. He is vice chair of the Parliamentary Justice Committee. Magdalena Andersson must remove him from these positions—or else she needs to explain why she thinks he is suitable,” demands Åkesson.
