30-year-old Kristian Youssef, who for a long time served as a response officer in the Stockholm area, has been sentenced to five years in prison after committing a large number of sexual crimes against children, including child rape, sexual abuse, sexual molestation, exploitation of children for sexual posing, and child pornography offenses.
According to the court, the severity of the crime corresponds to a sentencing value of five and a half years. However, the district court reduces the sentence by six months, citing sympathy for the convicted, who has been in custody for a long time and will lose his job.
The nine identified victims are boys, several of whom are around 12 years old. The youngest is 11 years old. The contacts began via Snapchat, where Youssef used several different accounts.
Occurred Over a Long Period
According to the verdict, the crimes were committed over an extended period, from September 1, 2023, to March 30, 2025. In the communications, he repeatedly claimed to be younger than he really was. Several of the boys had at the same time clearly stated their own ages.
In several cases, the abuses took place in the form of video calls, where the defendant persuaded the children to perform acts in real time in front of the camera. The investigation shows that in some cases, he recorded the material by filming the screen with another device, making it possible to save temporary chats.
In one of the cases, a very large number of files connected to a single child was documented—among them 34 videos and 19 images. In addition to material linked to the identified plaintiffs, he also possessed further child pornographic material, images and videos, some of which were classified as particularly cruel abuse material.
Threats, Manipulation, and Promises of Money
According to the verdict, Youssef used both threats and misleading information to get the boys to send photos and videos. In some cases, pictures with weapons were sent in order to intimidate.
The boys were urged to send nude photos and to perform acts on themselves that the court considered serious sexual offenses. In other cases, Youssef is reported to have lured with promises of money.

He also sent sexual material of himself to the children. Some of the material received was saved in a cloud service. The investigation also shows that he used multiple accounts linked to both his work phones and a private phone.
Exposed by a Parent
The crimes came to light in January last year after a parent discovered that his 12-year-old son had been in contact with an unknown person on Snapchat and had sent sexually explicit pictures.
The parent documented the conversations and handed the material over to the police. Through technical tracking, the account could be linked to one of the police authority’s own, Kristian Youssef, who had worked as a response officer in Stockholm since 2019.
During a house search, electronic equipment was seized. This led to the identification of additional victims.
Blamed the Children – Gets Sentence Reduced
During the trial, Youssef denied responsibility for the acts, instead trying to place blame on the victimized children.
He has been deprived of liberty since April last year, first as detained and then remanded in custody. For that reason, the court argues that the punishment should be lessened. The court writes: “Because of the damage he has suffered, the sentence shall be reduced by a total of six months.”

In addition, Youssef will have his sentence reduced by one third, to only three years and six months in prison, according to the so-called two-thirds rule.
Starting January 1 this year, the Tidö parties have tightened the rules for early conditional release. However, this currently only applies to prison sentences of six years or more.
The court orders him to pay damages to all nine plaintiffs. The highest compensations are 270,000 kronor and 250,000 kronor, respectively.
