On Monday, the Sweden Democrats published Jimmie Åkesson’s traditional Christmas speech.

In the speech, the SD leader highlighted what the party has achieved so far in the Tidö government.

– When summarizing the past year, there is much to be pleased about. The number of asylum seekers in Sweden continues to decrease. This year, Sweden is likely to have the lowest number of asylum seekers since 1997, more than 25 years ago. For the first time in over fifty years, Sweden has net emigration, meaning more people are emigrating than immigrating to Sweden,’ Åkesson says and continues:

– In addition to obvious measures such as harsher penalties and frequent deportations, we are working broadly to push back the devastating, cold-blooded gang crime. We have introduced security zones that give the police expanded powers to frisk individuals and search transport vehicles. We have passed a law that makes it possible to seize luxury items and cars from criminals without specific suspicion of a crime.

– We have pushed for the duty to provide information, which despite not covering everything that we Sweden Democrats had hoped for, will be an important part of the work to identify people who do not have the right to stay in our country. The entire society must work towards the same goal. We have ensured that it becomes easier to evict criminals from rental apartments. The starting point for this is simple. Life for criminals and other non-integrated individuals who have no intention of adapting and contributing to Sweden’s best interests should be made more difficult.
