Shortly before midnight, a residential area in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, was shaken by a powerful explosion. A detonation occurred near a townhouse, causing extensive material damage, but no one was injured. Now, the police suspect that the bomb was actually intended for a different address in the area.

According to media reports, both children and adults were inside the residence in the Sanda Ängar neighborhood that was targeted in the bombing. The blast damaged both the facade and windows, but no one was harmed.

According to information provided to Aftonbladet, the police are investigating whether the bomb attack was actually aimed at a different address and that the perpetrator, or perpetrators, made a mistake.

No suspects have been arrested for the attack, and during the night, the police bomb technicians have been on site to investigate the area. The incident is being investigated as severe public endangerment and a serious violation of the law on flammable and explosive substances.

Residents in the townhouse area describe the area in the media as peaceful and family-friendly. They express shock that gang violence has now reached even here – to an area that they liken to “Bullerbyn” (Bullerby Village), where children usually run in and out of each other’s homes and play freely.
