DEBATE • The Swedish agency landscape costs money. A lot of money. Some of these agencies have come about due to virtue signaling, others for ideological reasons. Often, the two reasons are combined. They are then allowed to remain, because no one wants to confront them. A concrete example of this is the Equality Agency, which works towards the goal that women and men should have the same ‘power’. They operate under the assumption that there is a gender power structure. This work is based on Marxist ideology.
The budget for the Equality Agency has more than doubled during the mandate period. From 75 million SEK proposed for 2022, to 166 million SEK proposed for 2025. This is madness.
This is justified – in the budget proposition for 2025 – by the focus on work against honor violence. In the same budget proposition, it is stated that ‘The lack of sufficient data to assess the extent applies in particular to honor-related violence and oppression’.
This is despite the enormous amounts that the Equality Agency has had at its disposal since before. This seems to be work that, despite this, is deemed to be better done within the Equality Agency – with Marxist analyses – than, for example, the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå).
Wrong analysis prevents right solutions
In itself, this is wrong, and one must ask what more left-leaning analyses of the honor issue solve. A Marxist analysis is not good for trying to describe the problems, for example within the framework of the concept ‘men’s violence against women’ as defined by the Equality Agency. Applying wrong analyses makes it impossible to find the right solutions.
A correct solution, which must be a central part of combating honor violence, is repatriation. This must be the foundation. There is no successful example in history where a state like Sweden has succeeded in educating away the honor culture. None.
Swedish culture not compatible with clan and honor culture
Sweden and our culture have achieved a great feat, we have moved away from that type of clan rule. Our society is based on solidarity where we feel that it is reasonable to donate a part of our income to ensure that everyone has a secure existence. It is not compatible with clan culture or honor culture.
The Equality Agency is useless in addressing the problems. Increased funding for Marxist virtue-signaling agencies does not solve the problems we see today, but rather the opposite: it is this thinking and ideology that is the cause of why we even have honor culture in Sweden.
Expanding the funding of Brå is acceptable, where the foundation in all analyses and solutions must be repatriation, but the Equality Agency must be abolished.
