On Monday afternoon, a residential area in eastern Malmö was shaken by an explosion. The national bomb squad was called to the scene, but this time it wasn’t gang criminals behind the explosion – it was an electric bike.
It was at 13:53 when homeowners in Östra Skrävlinge alerted emergency services about an explosion in their patio.
The rescue service waited to enter the villa and instead waited for the police to cordon off the street outside the house.
After the national bomb squad examined the patio, it turned out that a bicycle battery had caused the explosion. According to the rescue service, the building suffered significant damage.
