How should you actually place garbage bins outside the house correctly, and should the garbage collectors have turned them the right way and emptied them instead of leaving a note with instructions on how they should have been positioned? A post on social media is stirring emotions and a myriad of opinions.
“Didn’t know that the ones driving the garbage truck didn’t have arms so they could turn the garbage bin,” writes the person whose Facebook post has received a lot of attention.
“How do you even have the energy to first get out of the truck and go over and realize the bin handle is facing the wrong way, then go back up to the truck and fetch a note and put it on the bin. I call this efficient work,” laments the man.
The note is from the City of Gothenburg, where garbage collectors have noted that the garbage bins are placed incorrectly for quick and efficient emptying, and have chosen to bring this to the owner’s attention – something he has a hard time seeing the point of.
Different opinions
A comment that has received almost three thousand “likes” goes like this:
“The note is for you to know and not repeat your mistake.
It’s effective!
You spend time and energy taking photos and writing a post about how you choose to ignore other people’s work environment and think they should compensate for your laziness instead of you showing some consideration and turning the bin yourself so that those doing this important job don’t get worn out prematurely.
It shows a lack of respect!”
“Apparently, you don’t have arms to place the bin correctly,” writes another.
“Emptying 600–800 bins a day and turning 400 of them. It gets really heavy,” is a third person’s opinion.
“Absolutely unbelievable, that’s what happens with a monopoly,” states yet another individual.
