This week, a poll showed the Liberals no longer even reaching two percent support. Simona Mohamsson (L) also lands at the bottom in a survey of Swedish people’s confidence in party leaders.
With less than a year left until the election, the Liberal’s parliamentary seat is looking more and more like a battle they are struggling to win.
In the January Novus poll, only two percent of respondents say they have confidence in the Liberals’ party leader Simona Mohamsson — half of what Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist (C) receives at four percent.
These figures also mean that confidence in both leaders has halved compared to the November poll when they were at eight (C) and four (L) percent, respectively. Even the Green Party spokespeople have significantly better numbers than Mohamsson and Thand Ringqvist.

“It is already an existential problem. We also know that at some point here in the spring, voters begin to decide how they will cast their vote this fall. I think there is still some time left for the parties, but then they really need to start shaping up now and tell voters what they are getting with each party’s policies,” says Jenny Madestam, political scientist at Södertörn University, to TV4 Nyheterna.
At the top remains Magdalena Andersson (S) with a comfortable lead over the runner-up Ulf Kristersson (M), closely followed by Jimmie Åkesson (SD).
